The Annals of Internal Medicine recently published a study that found that spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) and exercise were more effective at relieving neck pain than pain medication.
Three study groups received either SMT from a Doctor of Chiropractic, pain medication, or exercise recommendations. After three months 57% of those who were seen by D.C's and 48% who exercised reported at least a 75% reduction in pain, compared to 33% of the people in the medication group.
